The Restaurant Associates culinary team is led by Leo Gstrein who is also our Head Chef at the iconic Sydney Town Hall.
Leo has been classically French trained and has worked at leading restaurants across Europe including under Mathew Harris at the Michelin starred Restaurant Bibendum in London and at the Michelin starred Hotel Trofana Royal in Ischgel under the tutelage of Austria’s Chef of the Year 2000, Martin Siebere.
Prior to joining Compass Group, Leo worked at Star City as Sous Chef at the Hatted restaurant, Astral, with the 2008 Chef of the Year, Sean Connelly.
Leo supports all RA sites in the delivery of premium dining events and is a key member of Compass Group’s Culinary Council – a forum where our culinary leaders share industry insights and innovation in everything from the ever-evolving contemporary food trends to sustainable food practices.
