Compass Group Hits Indigenous Employment Target.
Compass Group Australia will celebrate 2016 NAIDOC week with the achievement of a landmark target - the employment of 470 Indigenous people over the past 18 months. This interim target is in line with Compass Group Australia’s Project 1050 - an ambitious commitment to hire an additional 1,050 Indigenous jobseekers by 30 June 2018.
As a major hospitality and services company, Compass Group is one of Australia’s largest employers of Indigenous people with a long held commitment to achieving positive, sustainable and capacity building outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Compass has won many awards in recognition of its genuine commitment to ‘Closing the
Gap’ including most recently:
The 2016 Supply Nation Corporate Member of the Year Award acknowledging excellence in engaging and transacting with Supply Nation certified suppliers or registered Indigenous businesses and for demonstrated leadership in supplier diversity; and
- The 2016 Supply Nation Innovation for Impact Award for driving sustainable supplier
Compass Group builds business relationships with Indigenous partners at a local, regional and national level creating a strong, diverse and inclusive supply chain. In 2015 Compass purchased $4.6million worth of goods and services from Indigenous suppliers – representing 40% year on year growth. Compass Group is currently engaged with over 20 Supply Nation certified suppliers and service providers including:
Corporate Connect AB disposable coffee cups with Indigenous designs (20 million p.a.)
- Cole Workwear – hospitality uniforms ( Chef jackets, boots, pants)
- Pacific Cleaning – used at over 35 sites
Compass Group Australia has also established 11 Joint Venture companies generating +$312 million revenue in 2015 - shared with Indigenous partners.
