Meet our People – Ella Cassidy from our Queensland Children’s Hospital Retail Team achieved 5 years of service with Compass Group. An amazing achievement for most, this is more so for Ella and her parents, who were told she would never work in open employment. When Ella first started with Compass Group, she required a support person with her 100% of the time (provided through her disability employment agency), to travel from home to work, direct her during work and then travel home again with her.

Fast forward 5 years and Ella now travels to work by herself, works independently at her tasks, has taken on additional tasks to when she first started and only requires support for her home journey, as she doesn’t like to leave at the end of her shift until all the customers are gone and the area is clean. She loves her job so much.

These 5 years for Ella have meant that she is part of the community, she is an independent woman and with a little help she can achieve anything! A huge congratulations to Ella for her 5 years and hopefully many more to come. Ella, we’re so glad you’re part of our team!
