On 23 October, eight members of Restaurant Associates, our premium corporate hospitality team, laced up to take part in the Sydney J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge. The event is proudly sponsored by one of our long-term clients, J.P. Morgan and is now in it’s 22nd year, taking place across sixteen cities and eight countries. Now the world’s largest corporate running event, this year the Sydney subsidary was supporting the Indigenous Marathon Foundation.
The Restaurant Associates team joined over 12,000 other participants to race the 5.6km run around Sydney’s iconic Centennial Park. The event provided the perfect environment for teams to socialise and spend time together outside of work.
With an impressive average time of 29:06, Restaurant Associates placed 56/533 of the participating Sydney teams, and overtook the New York Restaurant Associates team!
With 77% of global employees¹ agreeing that it is important to feel able to socialise at work, fostering a culture of socialisation in the workplace has become increasingly significant. Not only can it improve employee happiness, wellbeing and productivity, it can enhance teamwork and connections to senior leaders.
Events like this are a powerful way for employers to facilitate connection and support employee wellbeing.
