Food Services Dietitian

The Position 

We are currently seeking a Qualified Dietitian with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in food service related dietetics, to support operations at the QCH.

At QCH we provide leading edge care for Queensland children in South Brisbane. Knowledge of food service management systems, trends in food service delivery, and high level dietetic skills are essential. Experience in paediatric nutrition is highly desirable. The Food Services Dietitian will also undertake a team leader role for those responsible for delivering the special diet services at the QCH.

The Role

The food service dietitian will work with the clinical food services manager and the clinical dietetics team to:

• Administer and manage the electronic menu management system including special diet types, allergies, dislikes and other food requirements. This will also include recipe modifications and management, menu cycle development and user training.
• Manage a small team of menu monitors including; rostering, training compliance and backfilling as required.
• Exercise independent professional judgement in solving problems and managing issues where principles, procedures and techniques require expansion, adaptation or modification.
• Contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of food service programs and services.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of policy and procedures in consultation with all levels of the clinical food services as well as various clinicians from QCH.
• In consultation with the dietetics department develop menus and recipes that provide for the nutritional needs of all patients including those with specific dietary requirements and food preferences.
• Conduct regular audits and quality control activities of the food service system to ensure accuracy of the special diet services consistent with the expectations of Queensland Health.

In line with the required legislation, a valid and current police checkwill be required as part of the standard recruitment and selection process for this position.
